Question About MTD Tiller 410 - 422
Tines do not turn...

Forward and reverse work perfectly, but the tines will not engage when you engage it. I have disassembled the case and inspected it and I see nothing visually wrong. Could I be overlooking something in the case, or is there something else that could cause this dilemma. It is a 21A-410-422 model. Thanks

0 I am also having the same problem. ANy solution. The repair shop wants to replace the entire gearbox carte blanche, which costs more than what I paid for the tiller when it was new OR what a new one of the same type costs at HOME DEPOT today.

0 I had the same problem. Turns out that the drive belt just came off the idler pulley. Pull the belt cover off and make sure the belt is ABOVE the idler pulley.
