My MTD Yardmans Hydrostatic Transmission stops cut...

My MTD Yardmans Hydrostatic Transmission stops cutting at most any level of gass , {Some times it cuts , then stops} , When I stop the mower & wait long enough , You can hear it power back up . What can I do to rectify this problem ? ? ?
