I replaced all safety switches including the ignition switch, solinoid and can not start the mower with the key. I by-passed all safety switches and still could not start the mower with the key. What ia wrong.

0 Just went through this same episode. Found my problem to be the safety swith on the PTO. If you remove the bottom plate that the transmission shifter extends through, you can see an additional safety switch that the PTO arm engages when it disengages the blades. In short when pulled all the way back towards the seat and locks in. There is a small plunger that is depressed when in the fully retracted position. If the plunger is not depressed, the engine will not start. On mine, the plunger musgt have been bent back by regular use, all i did was to bend it back towards the PTO arm, and then wedged a screw under it to keep it from being bent back again. Hope this helps, good luck. P.S. you can probably salvage all of your old parts.
