How about a clutch return spring for a signature 2...

How about a clutch return spring for a signature 2000 18/42 vari drive? I bought it - cut great behind the shop. Got home and started it let the clutch out and nothing. Reached down with my left hand and pulled on the clutch and away I went. 5th gear works better though? What's the deal? Ben R.
