WILL NOT TURN OVER...

NO POWER TO STARTER FROM PURPLE WIRE ON STARTER SOLENOID. USED JUMPER WIRE TO TERMINAL B ON STARTER WILL TUNR ENGINE OVER. WHAT IS WRONG?
