0 EARLY OR LATE MODEL.....IF YOU HAVE THE INTERMEDIATE JACKSHAFT, IT IS BECAUSE THE PINS ARE WORN / MISSING WHICH HOLD THE CONTROL ARM IN PLACE....ALSO CHECK BEARINGS IN THE JACKSHAFT SHEAVE ASSEMBLY

0 Thanks for trying to help! I have the Late Model, including the Owner's Manual and the Parts Catalog. In the Parts Catalog [G03-04], It talks about a Jacksheave but not a Control Arm. And it does not name label any of the parts. I found the "Tension Pulley with Spring" was loose, so I tried to tighten that. I'll see today if that helps. Thanks for your help!

0 I have an early model and I'm having the same belt issue. I've had the bearings replaced in the center pulley that holds both belts and some of the deck pulleys. Is there an adjustment on the tension pulley? Thanks, Jack

0 From my post on May 2, 2009, I have NOT had a problem since tightening the "Tension Pulley with Spring". There is a Nut inside the deck that you hold with one wrench while you tighten the nut at the top of the Tension Pulley. If that Pulley is loose, then the belt will not stay on. Hope this helps! Best, Jim
