4 the pulley assembly and the tightening assembly all have to come off the deck to replace the deck belt. This is a photo from the manual.

0 cgill1 Could you scan a copy of your manual. I just bought an older stx38 and have no reference material at all

0 I am unable to scan a copy of my manual as it is on a CD I purchased from John Deere. Also the manual I have is extensive. It is a technical CD for repair and contains a LOT of pages.
