I have two Hustler Super Z Mowers. Both have identical starter problems. When the starter key is turned to the first on position, the electric motors (fans etc.) come on, but when the key is advanced to the "Start" position, - - Nothing! - - the starter does not turn the engine over. If a battery charger is connected to the battery terminals, and 50 amps selected - most of the time, the mower starts. - - Any suggestions from the other owners would be welcomed. 2 I have a Hustler Super Z 72" CAT "Perkins" diesel--I have had the same problems with starting--I never tried the boost mode on my charger, but I found that charging them over night fixed the problem. I chalked it up to weak batteries, since I did buy it used. I havn't biught new ones yet, just keep them charged. I would check your charging system also.
