Husqvarna LTH1542--engine runs fine--drives nicely--but the engine pulley, which turns the mower drive belt, is not turning??? I took off the belt to see if the belt was causing a problem--no--still no turning??? What next?

0 sounds like the half moon key that hold the pulley onto the shaft is stripped out. try turning the pulley [WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING] if the pulley turns easily then I would say its the key. You should be able to tap the pulley off or use a puller to pull it off.

0 First look at the pulley for a allen head screw that helps to hold it to the shaft. If it has one loosen it and then try pulling the pulley off. The key will be located in a groove in the pulley and a groove in the shaft, they both have to line up to replace the key. You can buy half moon keys at any hardware store. Hope this helps
