With difficulty removed drive cover and with new chain installed can't get cover back on....because of the spring clip circumference. What am I doing wrong?

5 Great idea. Removed guard and used as wrench to reset the brake. Didn't even need a vice. This worked after local dealer said he might break it trying to reset it. I said if I know more than you than we are all in reel trouble. Thanks for the great solution. I will pass it along to my dealer!!!!

4 The easy way to release the brake once you have removed the cover is to take an allen wrench and remove the plastic chain brake guard and use the guard as a wrench to reset the brake.

0 I just encountered the same problem. Its because the "Chain Brake" was on when the cover was removed. Releasing the brake while the cover is off the saw is very difficult because it is spring loaded. I haven't found an easy way to do it.
