0 I think you pushed the safety bar to stop the chain. Any time you take the cover off the chain must be able to spin. You try and put the cover on push the guard FORWARD to ingauge the ring (To Open it back up) Don't worry about getting the cover on right at first. You are just trying to open the ring, You have to try and kine up the cast cover to the plastice guard. It fits in like a key. Good luck
