I have a 5500 watt homelite generator that quit working. it worked fine throughout one power outage and sat for 6 years before i needed it again. i started the gas engine but could not get power from the generator. the generator has ran 20 hours at most since i got it new. i have changed the rectifer, which was probably not necessary and put in new brushes. can it be a problem with the two 20 amp breakers?

0 A good chance is that the Main voltage regulator transistor on the regulator circuit board is bad. A new transistor will cost about $20 and you will need someone to unsolder the old one and solder in the new one. The original part number is IRGPC20S, identified as Q1. A suitable generic replacement is available from NTE Electronics, the NTE 3311.

0 My generator motor runs fine, but blew the regulator board (A06527-E) at the power input connector and the first SRC. I can fix the connector, but since the SRC literally blew, I don't have the number from it so I can replace it. All other components on the board have tested OK. Can you help?

0 The correct regulator board part number is A06257-E. This is a black square component with three leads coming off of it, sits on top of a heat sink. This is for my LRIE 5500 generator.
