5 After some research on the Internet and measuring my old chain (NB: should only measure a new chain due to stretching from use), I came up with the following chain specs. Pitch 3/8, Gauge .050, drive links 50. Armed with this information i went to my local Bunnings. Closest to these specs were 49 links. I purchased it $21, took it home and put it on my ALCH1400. (not as loose as old chain, but it fitted and adjusted ok.) I then tested it on a tree trunk and it work well. Cahin I brought was a timberman TM023 . Hope this helps. Happy new year.
