my powerscourt shower will run on lowest power/tem...

my powerscourt shower will run on lowest power/temp settings but when I turn up power past thrid setting and temp past 6 the shower cuts out, if I turn it back on it cuts out again and again, water will still pass through though. what can I do about this. I checke d for blockage but constant run of water rules that out.
