0 I think water or moisture gets into the shift shaft. I just opened one up, lack of grease, needle bearings tight fit need grease The shifter gear is frozen and has a bearing at end, I will have to figure out how to get it out so I can try to free the gear or just get it out to order a replacement shaft, bearing, gear just started working on it part time and novice mechanic
