Question About Cub Cadet Lawn Mower LT1042

electric PTO will disengage after 3 to 4 seconds when tractor is in motion can reset PTO swithc then it starts engages then stops, tractor has 47 hours on it

0 Bad relay. I replaced the relay with a Bosche 87. Its a real common automotive relay and I haven't had a problem since.

0 My intermittent PTO operation was traced to the seat switch and not the PTO relay. There are two wires leading to the seat switch, one for the motor and one for the PTO. Remove both wires to check if switch is intermittently grounding out.

0 You may be able to check this when it disengages. While maintaining seat pressure, open hood and tap on relay. If the PTO engages, this is your problem. I bought a Bosche 87 relay and plug. I cut the wires from the old relay and matched them up (Soldered) them to the plug. Then just plugged the new relay in and it's worked fine for the last year. I think both relays have the pin functions on them, so it's pretty easy to do. Good luck.
