Question About Cub Cadet Lawn Mower 18M
Cheap recoils...

Yes, why does a company with a good name put such a cheap recoil on their push lawnmowers. If this was an automobile they would have to recall it and fix them.

0 I bought a push mower last year and the starter recoil spring is disengaged, I feel this cub cadet mower is a rip off

0 They have no help when you call service support except to tell you to buy a whole new assembly instead of messing with the coil spring. Sure for 46 buck plus shipping , why not ? Dang machine is not worth the money for a new recoil starter. They should have instructions on how to replace the coil and restring the starter on their website . I did find a picture of the coil spring on a website Repair Clinic.com Same assembly is used on MTD lawnmowers , I checked the part number. But still they should make it so you can fix the dang coil spring .
