My crank rope broke. How can I change it? I got it apart almost. Do not know how to remove clutch to get housing off.

3 VERY carefully use a brass or soft rod tool and hammer to hit the edge of the clutch throw, counter-clockwise to loosen the left hand thread of the clutch off the crankshaft. There might even be a hex nut built into the clutch assembly, if so use a wrench to turn off counter-clockswise... very carefully... ! Jim

0 i have virtually disassembled the weedeater and had no idea how to replace the starter rope.but now, i can see that the clutch will have to come off and i will try to free it up by tapping ccw and hopefully i will have some success.
