Brand new blower delivered with speed select lever in 6th speed position and will not go down below 5th. Can't put in neutral, and therefore can't start.

0 I have the same problem. It's not a friction disc drive but an enclosed transmission so not a simple fix.

0 Also I cannot find this model on sears parts direct database. And the snow just keeps on coming. Oh my poor back. That's why I bought a snowblower. Not for it to look good in the garage.

0 I went to Sears Service Center today and talked to the mechanic about my issue. According to him, as it turns out, it's not a problem. The blower can be started in the 6th gear and should be able to change gears once the blower is running. Haven't tried it yet, but the mechanic seemed to now what e was talking about, which is a bonus compared to their "Hot Line" who have no clue as to what your talking about and can provide no answers except to send a technician over in a month...

0 Added fuel to the fuel tank. Strangely enough, after carefully adding the fuel, it sratrted leaking gaz everywhere from underneath the reservoir and it stoppped after a while. Once it stopped leaking, I prcoceded to start the engine. Once the engine was running, sure enough, the gear shifter worked.
