I have an older Craftsman Snowthrower. The auger is moving very slow and does not move when heavier snow is encountered. I think there may be a shear pin or key that may be faulty. Can you help?

0 I am in a simlar situation where the auger is moving very slow and does not move when heavier snow is encountered. At times the auger does not move at all when the auger clutch is engaged. I have had the snow thrower auger belt changed and it tuned up. Not sure what to do now, could really use some suggestion, insight, help as what else it might be. Thanks, Rick

0 Your auger is probably moving slowly due to the belt. I see you have replaced it, but is the belt tight? The repairman that originally replaced mine, put a belt slightly larger than it needed and that is why it would turn sometimes but not in heavy snow. I replaced the belt myself through ACE Hardware and it works great!
