5368852200: Would a loose muffler cause the engine...

5368852200: Would a loose muffler cause the engine to accelerate at a high rate of speed once warm to the point I could not kill the enginee with choke or on/off switch? I had to flood it with primer buttom to shut it down. When I opened it up the muffler had been loose.. I tightened and ran it, so far so good.. PN

2 Remove the bolts, one at a time putting LOCKTITE on the threads. Reinstall one bolt, and then remove the second and proceed in the same manner. Mine were stripped, and I had to use Hellicoils to secure the muffler. Be careful, there is a gasket between the muffler and the head.
