5 I used to repair these about 10 years ago. What you want to do is to remove the rope assembly for the side of the motor. Spin it clockwise 8-9 times and line the hole with the plastic rope holder and the where the rope goes in. Insert the rope through both holes and tie it off. allow the plastic spindle to spin back then pull about 2 inches off the rope out and attach the handle. You may also be able to buy the assembly already assembled.
