Question About Craftsman Lawn Mower Craftsman LT1000 Riding
ignition system...

Mower will not start, turn key and the only thing that happens is the starter will not engage and there is winding noise between the key and starter is this the solenoid that has gone bad? Full of gas, checked all connections

0 These starters have a plastic gear on the them that break very easily. The gear does not cost much, but is really difficult to put on. Take your starter off and take it down to the small engine shop to have them put the new gear on it. They should have the special tool to do it easy. Jim
