i started my 6.5 craftsman self propelled mower…

for Craftsman Lawn Mower 107.28993

i started my 6.5 craftsman self propelled mower apparently low on oil , it began smoking and then killed. when I tried to restart it, it just spinned with little resitance what couldbe the problem
