Question About Craftsman Lawn Mower Craftsman LT1000 Riding
dies when you take off the clutch...

starts and runs great but some kind of cut out is activating when I take off the clutch and try to move???

4 We are having the exact same problem. Thought it had to do with the kill "safety" switch coming unplugged just under the seat so we got that part secured, but now as soon as you take your foot off the clutch to engage it dies. We bought it used and we don't have a manual. Need that too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. LT1000 model #917.271643 (or it might be 917.271843, hard to read label due to weathering) 16.5 horse

3 Having the same problem. Last week tractor was running fine. Now tractor starts and runs but as soon as I engage the blade or try to engage the clutch to drive the engine dies. If I quickly disengage the blades or push the brake back in the engine will continue to run. Any help would be appreciated.

0 Anyone who can assist in this issue would be greatly appreciated. I have a 16.5 B&S with the hydrostatic trans that cuts out when you let off the brake or engage the blades.
