craftsman model #917-373980 changed air filter and...

craftsman model #917-373980 changed air filter and spark plug. Put in a little dry gas, mower starts but the dies right after. Will not run.

5 you have a clogged or dirty carburetor take off the air filter and the mounts so you can get to the bowl , take off the bowl with the mower tipped on the side so the carb is facing up. then clean the bolt that holds it on fishing line or a wire will work to clean it out. Start it back up then hold your thumb over the intake hole if it want to die again to suck any remaining gunk out of it.
