I have been given this mower and have no manuals. It needs doing up a bit, new track rod ends and tyres and so the manuals that go with it would be handy. Where is the best place to get spares from? Many thanks

0 Hi, Firstly, Countax mowers are known by their model name. To find what model it is look inside the console housing for a Countax label, it will have the build information on it. It will give the date of manufacture, mower type, model and serial number. Then Google Countax for their customer service details, then give them a call and ask for a users manual and parts list for your model, they will probably ask for the details from the build label. If you have a PGC (powered grass collector) it should have its own build label, ask for the manuals for the PGC too while you're at it. Some cutter decks had build labels too but don't worry if it is not there, all the cutter decks supplied as standard or as an option for your model are covered in the user manual and parts list for your model. Ask nicely and they will probably email it to you for free. Failing that, using the info from the build label have a look on Fleabay as there are many people selling them in PDF format as a direct download or on a dvd. You can try googing for manuals but I doubt you'll get much joy there. Regards parts, sad to say but fleabay again unless you want to pay dealer prices. Some parts you will have to find your local Countax dealer for, but for the likes of bearings and belts a local bearing stockist will be as good as any. With bearings, unless the mower is in use every day buy cheap ones, I use mine commercially and it is cutting two days out of five, I use cheaper bearings and they last at least a season if not two some times three. They are cheap enough to change on a yearly basis if needs be and still be cost effective. Tyres don't cost too much, use 'turf' tread for limited damage to lawns, bar grips if the ground is soft but expect to leave tread marks or chew it up a bit. Best of luck Doug
