0 I had the same issues. I tried relacing the fuel, cleaning the carb, and changing plugs. It would not fire with out spraying ether in the breather, and would die after it fired. The problem wound up bing that I failed to clean the jet that was located inside the float. Once I cleaned the jet, it runs like a champ. A smal saffty pin will go through the jet to clean it. You are able to push the jet out of the float with a small screw driver. Another thin to look out for, make sure you do not pench or cut your spark plug wire if you've had to pull off the pull cord housing. This will cause it not to fire as well. If it is cut or penched, even with spring ether in the breather, it will still not fire up. Hope this helps.
