Question About Bush Hog Brush Cutter SqUealer Series

I am attempting to replace a gearbox on an SQ60 Bush Hog. I have removed the castle nut that holds the blade pan assembly but cannot get the blade pan assy off the splined shaft of the old gearbox. The blade pan must be removed to access the 4 bolts holding the gearbox. Ant suggestions?
