Question About Briggs & Stratton Tiller None
Recoil starter repair...

Craftsman rear tine tiller model 917.293483. Recoil starter assembly is mounted to engine with 4 rivet fastners rather than screws. How do you remove it in order to get to the rope mechanism to order to replace the rope and then once removed can I reattached it using a screw type fastner.

0 DUDE', do not remove rivets. you need a 5\16 & 3\8 socket. start removing things. take gas line off & drain.remove gas tank, you,ll have to twist out throttle cable. remove rope housing by screws.
