1 I have the same problem, took mine to a dealer found out that the stator and voltage regulator are shot. The unit has 58 hours on it, and has never been hurt or over loaded. He also has a unit with only 19 hours on it with the same problem. My advice is to call briggs and stratton and let them know what is happening with the unit. Hopefully if we all get together they will help us.

1 just got mine back from the repair shop. Check the voltage regulator, thats all it took to fix. Thank goodness for small favors. 180.00 fix is better than the 650. they quoted me
