Question About Bolens Trimmer BL 100/ BL 150

I have a Bolens BL150 weedeater. The fuel tank has 1 hose barb for a fuel line and another hole beside the barb in bottom of tank. What goes in this hole? Obviously, gas will run out of hole if not plugged or something. i have inherited two of these ond both are the same way. Any ideas?
