Description
Carburetor heater kits are recommended for improved cold starting in locations where the temperatures falls below 0_C
(32_F). Carburetor heaters p revent condensation andcarburetor icing. The heat erturns onwhen the temperature at t he
thermostat falls below approximately 4_C(40_F) and turns off when the temperature rises above approximately 16_C
(60_F).
The c arburetor heat erfor m odels6VSG, 8 .5RES, 12RES/RESL, and 14RES/RESL/RESA/RESAL mounts betweenthe
engine aircleaner andthe carburetor . Thecarburetor heater f ormodels 8/10/12RESV/RESVL usesan adaptor to mount
on the carburetor. The carburetor heater for models 17/18RES/RESL, 20RES/RESL/RESA/RESAL, and 20RESB fits
into a threaded opening on the carburetor .
Carburetor heater kits are available in 120 volt or 240 volt versions.
Note: The heater requires a continuous source of AC power. The generator set must b e connected to an AC power
source that is backed up by the generator set.
