To ensure the safe installation, adjustment, and opera-
tion of Tub Bar, these instructions MUST be followed:

DO NOT install this equipment without first
reading and understanding this instruction
sheet. If you are unable to understand these
Warnings, Cautions and Instructions,
contact a healthcare professional, dealer or
technical personnel if applicable before
attempting to install this equipment -
otherwise, injury or damage may occur.
Always check the tub bar for proper tight-
ness before using.
The tub bar provides support and increases
stability for an individual weighing up to 250
lbs (114 kg). The tub bar is NOT designed to
support the total weight of an individual.
Use the tub bar for assistance ONLY.
Hold the tub bar securely when entering or
exiting the bath tub.
DO NOT use the UPPER gripping position
(handle) of the tub bar when lowering or
raising yourself into or out of the bathtub.
The UPPER gripping position (handle) is
NOT designed to support an individual's
total weight. Pushing or pulling the UPPER
gripping position (handle) in a sideways
motion will loosen the tub bar from its
secured position and may cause injury.
Apply DOWNWARD force on the LOWER
gripping position ONLY when lowering or
raising yourself into or out of the bathtub
(FIGURE 1).

Bathtub construction varies and this prod-
uct may not be appropriate for use on all
bathtub styles. Bathtubs with sloped inner
walls may not provide the tub bar sufficient
holding ability. Given this condition the
assembly can become dislodged during use.
After installation, verify that the device
holds as expected. Always verify that the
device is secure prior to use.
DO NOT use this device on bathtubs with
lipped walls.
DO NOT overtighten adjustment knob.
Instability to the tub bar and/or bath tub
damage can occur.
NOTE: For lipped bathtubs, wall mounted grip bars are
available.

NOTE: Refer to the GENERAL WARNINGS AND
INSTALLATION WARNINGS in the
SAFETY SUMMARY of this instruction sheet.
1. Remove the tub bar from the package.
2. Loosen the adjustment knob on the tub bar.
3. Ensure that inside and outside area of bath tub
wall where tub bar will be placed is clean and dry.
4. Place the tub bar over the top of the tub wall
with the external non-skid pad against the
outside of the tub wall and the internal non-skid
pad on the inside of the tub wall (FIGURE 2).
5. Place the tub bar upright with the cutout
portion flat on the top of the tub wall and turn
the adjustment knob clockwise until consider-
able resistance is felt, but DO NOT overtighten.
