PARKING BRAKE LEVER
Toset the parkingbrake: Fullydepressthe brakepedal.Movethe
parkingbrakeleverintotheparkingbrakeposition.Releasethebrake
pedalto allowtheparkingbraketo engage.
To releasetheparkingbrake: Depressthe brakepedalandthe park-
ingbrakeleverwill moveoutofthe parkingbrakepositionon itsown.
Theparkingbrakewillthenbereleased.Releasethe brakepedal.
NOTE=Theparkingbrakemustbe setif the operatorleavesthe seat
withthe enginerunningor the enginewillautomaticallyshutoff.
THROTTLE/CHOKE CONTROL LEVER
Thethrottle/chokecontrolleveris
locatedonthe right sideofthe trac-
tor'sdashpanel.This levercontrols
the speedof the engineand when
pushedall thewayforward,the
chokecontrolalso.Whensetin
a givenposition,thethrottlewill
maintaina uniformenginespeed.
IMPORTANT=Whenoperating
the tractorwiththe cuttingdeck
engaged,thethrottle/chokecontrol
levermustalwaysbe inthe FAST
(rabbit)position.
IGNITION SWITCH MODULE
Thekeyswitchmoduleisusedto
startand stopthe engine.Itis also
usedtoactivatethe ReverseCaution
Mode(bladesoperatewhileriding
in reverse).Insertkeyinto thekey
switchmoduleandturn clockwiseto
the STARTposition.Releasethe key
intothe normalmowingpositiononce
enginehas started.Theheadlights
will beactivatedin the Normal(and
ReverseCaution)modes.
Tostopthe engine,turnthe ignitionkey
counterclockwiseto theSTOPposition.

IMPORTANT:Priorto operatingthe tractor,refertoboththe"Safety
InterlockSystem"and"StartingTheEngine"laterinthissectionofthis
manualfordetailedinstructionsregardingtheIgnitionSwitchModule
andoperatingthetractorinREVERSECAUTIONMODE.
Neverleavea runningmachineunattended.AlwaysdisengagePTO
(BladeEngageLever),moveshiftleverintoneutralposition,setpark-
ingbrake,stopengineandremovekeyto preventunintendedstarting.
SEAT ADJUSTMENT LEVER
Theseatadjustmentleverislocatedunderthe frontofthe seat.Toadjustthe
seat,slidetheseatadjustmentlevertothe leftandslidetheseatforwardor
rearward.Makesure seatislockedintopositionbeforeoperatingthetractor.
AUTO-DRIVE PEDAL
The drivepedalislocatedonthe rightsideof the tractor,alongthe
runningboard.Depressthe drivepedalforwardandthe tractorwill
moveinthe directionthatthe shiftleveris engagedin.Tocausethe
tractortotravelforward,whileat acompletestop,movethe shiftlever
intothe Forwardposition.Graduallysteponthe drivepedalandthe
tractorwillbeginto moveforward.Tomovein Reverse,followthe same
procedureonlymovetheshiftleverintothe reverseposition.
The groundspeediscontrolledwiththe drivepedal.Thefurther
forwardthatthe pedalis pivoted,thefasterthetractorwill travel.
The pedalwill returnto its originalpositionwhenit'snot depressed.
Referto theOperationsectionof thismanualfordetailedinstructions
regardingthedrivepedal.
IMPORTANT= Alwayssetthe parkingbrakewhenleavingthetractor
unattended.
DECK LIFT LEVER
Foundonyour tractor'srightfender,thedeckliftleverisused
to changetheheightofthecuttingdeck.Touse,movethe
levertotheleft, thenplaceinthe notchbestsuitedfor your
application.
PTO (BLADE ENGAGE) LEVER
Foundonthe tractor'srightfender,the PTO(bladeengage)
leverisusedto engagepowertothecuttingdeckorother
(separatelyavailable)attachments.Tooperate,movethe
leverall thewayforward.Movingtheleverallthe way
rearwardintothe PTOOFFpositiondisengagespowerto the
cuttingdeck/attachment.
NOTE: ThePTO(bladeengage)levermustbe inthe
disengaged(PTOOFF)positionwhenstartingthe engine.
CUP HOLDER
The tractor'scup holderis locatedon the fendertothe left of
the seat.
SHIFT LEVER
The shiftleveris locatedonthe left
sideofthe fenderand hasthree
positions,FORWARD,NEUTRAL
and REVERSE.Theclutch-brake
pedalmustbedepressedandthe
tractormustnot be inmotionwhen
the movingshiftlever.
IMPORTANT=Neverforcethe
shiftlever.Doingsomayresultin
seriousdamagetothe tractor's
transmission.

CLUTCH-BRAKE PEDAL
The clutch-brakepedalis locatedonthe left sideofthe lawntractor,
alongthe runningboard.Depresstheclutch-brakepedalto engagethe
disc brakeandbringthe tractortoa completestop.
NOTE=Thepedalmustbe depressedto startthe engine.Referto
SafetyInterlockSwitcheslaterin thissectionof thismanual.
