®
is fully multi-coated, providing increased
light transmission.
The 80mm ELITE
®
contains a waterproof body.
The 80mm ELITE
®
comes with a rugged carrying case that can
remain on the spotting scope during viewing.
The 80mm ELITE
®
is constructed of the finest materials and
assembled by highly skilled craftsmen to the highest quality standards.
MOUNTING
The ELITE
®
Spotting Scope tripod mount provides a convenient means
of fastening to any tripod, car window mount or other stable
platform. For best results, mount your ELITE
®
Spotting Scope on a firm
support to prevent any movement of the spotting scope. Movement
will make the viewed scene appear to vibrate at high magnification.
A firm mount will also help you to locate, track and keep objects in
the field of view.
ZOOM EYEPIECE
Align the white dot on the front of the eyepiece with the peep sight
on the spotting scope body. Insert the eyepiece and turn clockwise
until the white eyepiece dot and the peep sight are aligned.
FOCUSING
The ELITE
®
Spotting Scope will focus from 16 feet to infinity at any
power. Rotate the focus knob until you see a precise defined image.
The depth of field (the distance over which the image is seen in sharp
focus) and the field of view are greatest at lower powers. With the
zoom eyepiece, if the initial focusing is done at low power, you may
find that additional focus adjustment is required as power is increased.
SIGHTING
Your ELITE
®
Spotting Scope is equipped with a “peep sight”. Look into
the rear aperture located just above the eyepiece. Center the object
of interest in the field of view and look through the eyepiece.
Minimum adjustment will be required to center the object when
viewed through the eyepiece.
USE WITH EYEGLASSES
The ELITE
®
eyepiece is designed to provide you with the longest
practical eye relief possible. (Eye relief if the distance from the eye to
the eyepiece at which a full field of view is seen.) This provides you
with the same field of view with or without eyeglasses. The ELITE
®
eyepiece is equipped with a rubber eyeguard to eliminate the
possibility of scratching plastic eyeglass lenses.
CHANGING POWER
The variable power zoom eyepiece provides a 20x to 60x power range.
To change the magnification grasp the eyepiece body and rotate the
Power Change Ring to the desired power as indicated by the
Magnification Ring. As you zoom from low power to high power
under low light conditions, you may notice a decrease in the
image brightness. This is normal. As magnification is increased, the
amount of light transmitted to your eye, image brightness is
decreased proportionately.
