Pull string started is stucked and cannot start anymore

5 All Mighty lites WILL have this problem. There is a large coil spring in the starter mechanism that breaks its plastic locater at one end. The plastic is no match for the spring tension. This spring is seperate to the flat steel rope recoil spring. Fit the Ryobi pully in place of the Homelite pully. Use a 5/16 drill to grind away the starter paul stops slightly, as the Ryobi part is slightly smaller in diameter and the pauls will not fully engage the new pully.

4 There is a flat steel spring that pulls the cord back into the housing. Identical to how steel tape measures work. If the spring gets wet, it can rust.. and won't slide easily. Some WD-40 sprayed lightly into the groove under the housing may free it up.. or you will need to take off the housing and check if the spring has broken.
