Homelite Gas String Trimmer ST-285BC (UT20581-E)

Will not start

I've changed the sparkplug and verified the fuel mixture. The trimmer will not start. The machine sat idle for over one year. Now, after pulling, and pulling it just won't turn over and stay running. Any thoughts?
