Poulan Grass Trimmer XT 400

adapting a grass gator to my weedeater xt 400

I bought a grass gator 5610 replacement head for my gas powered curved shaft weedeater xt400 (these weedeater bump spools are driving me nuts)
The bolt on the end of my weedeaters curved shaft is about 1/2 inch too short to grab on to the grass gator head assembly securely.
Anybody know of a way to lengthen the distance the bolt sticks out from the bottom of the shaft?
