Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor LT1042

will not engage the reverse mehanism

I recently canged the clutch on thie 2yrs old machine. Everything works except when you turn the key to reverse & push the reverse button, the light no longer turn on & once you go on reverse, the PTO wil disengage. It is a pain to keep pushing & pulling the button each time you go on reverse. I called MTD's tech support.... What a waiste of time. The person who answer the phone has no clue. Finnaly, He wanted to refer me to "my service area". Can anyone help??? PLease!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
