Starter Motor

Loose post where power cable is attached to starteer. Engine will turn slightly but not start. Silver colored powder dropping from starter to chassis. Will this required replacing the motor or can it be tightened off the mower? Do you have a parts manual on line?

    I fixed the problem. The plastic ring that holds the brushes and terminal inside the starter was broken at the terminal. Very poor design! The terminal is not part of the starter housing and can easily be broken. The machine had major servicing last summer and the problem occurred intermittently after that, becoming permanent last week.
