engine trouble

The engine runs smooth when going slow on level ground. When I engage the blade and go a bit faster, it looses power and sputters. If I am going up an incline, it looses power, sputters and wants to go off. The gas is good and full.

  • possibly fuel filter....

    When this happens I usually change the fuel filter and only use ones that fully stop the flow of gas to motor when filter needs changed.
    I now change fuel filters at the beginning of each mowing season and have not had the problem you described since. Wouldn't hurt to check spark plug gap either.
