  I've had my old 724 for about 20 years (and I bought it used). I've maintained it well over the years and it's always been dependable. Today I had to blow out a bunch of 3-5" powder and I encountered the same kind of stalling problem you describe. I too thought it was the carb adjustment (too lean?), but that wasn't it at all. Found out that it's the interlock system that's eroded/corroded/just plain worn out/aged/something. I forced the interlocks (both main drive and blower) into clear mode using electrical or duct tape and was able to finish the driveway. But this IS NOT SAFE. I now have to fully diagnose the problem and get the repair parts before the next show. Everything seems to be external (on the handle) so I don't anticipate any problems. HTH.

  I went to the local store and got a carb kit.
  
  Rebuilt the carb (with the help of my son) and put a new spark plug in. It now acts as new.
  
  The snow is being tough so far this year, and this (beside my snow tires) was the best investment i have made this year.
  
  I spent $ 400.00 for this used blower,
  another $ 25.00 to give it life again, and it is a bear. Smiles at the road plows that throw **** in my driveway and chuckles.
  
  I don't know much about this snowbolwer, but I know when it is running well, it is a King because all others have fallen to the back of the line.
  
  If you have an older Toro that is not rusty, especially one like mine, keep it,, restore it and run it. They don't make them like this anymore.
  
  I have a manual on he Toro 7/24 that I would be happy to share and spec sheets on the carb a well.

  i just picked up a used but what appears to be great condition toro 7/24, model 38050. Looking for the user manual/ any other relevant docs/repair manuals. If anyone can share i would appreciate it.
