Hello, the 50" mower deck on my Cub Cadet 1050 th
Hello,
the 50" mower deck on my Cub Cadet 1050 threw an idler pulley. This is the pulley attached to the arm that has the spring on it. When looking from the rear of the deck, it is the pulley on the left side.

My question is this--when i replace the pulley, which side is up? Is it the side with the little black nub sticking up, or does that little black nub insert into the hole on the metal arm?

I would appreciate any help you can offer.

Intermittent PTO operation
My PTO would cut out after riding less than 1 minute. Traced the trouble to a defective seat safety switch. My switch worked fine for 4 years, but started to cause a safety cut off of the PTO in year 5. You confirm your seat switch is failing by removing both wire connected to it. One wire is engine cutoff and one is PTO cutoff. If your PTO problem goes away, its the seat switch causing the problem.
